Estoril blue E46 M3 Convertible (INDIVIDUAL) with factory fitted hardtop & Black Napa leather interior. Genuine staggered Hyper silver CSL's the car has had 6 former registered keepers, first owner bought the car from Williams BMW & owned the car up to 51,000 miles & serviced it at every interval by BMW. (including running in service) Second keeper had the car for three years & carried out all his own servicing, he had the subframe checked & repaired by BMW Oxford at 87000 miles in November of 2011, (which can be confirmed if you contact oxford) he also replaced the clutch flywheel & actuator at 100k & fitted some Eibach lowering springs & upgraded the Rear trailing arm bushes & later sold the car at 110k miles. The man I bought the m3 from bought the car via proxy through a car dealer in Lancashire as the 5th owner he didn't have much info on the third or fourth owner he also had no idea if the previous owner actually serviced the car while he owned it. However it didn't seem to trouble him & during his time with the m3 he replaced the SMG motor as the car was dropping to neutral once warm but since fitting it has been fine & he done 3500 miles with no issues whatsoever. the car was serviced at 118k with fully synthetic Castrol 10w 60 I then purchased the car from him as the 6th owner, this is currently my 3rd e46 m3 both previous to this were coupe & manual. I was always a little bit dubious about the SMG gearbox's .... although they were made by GETRAG & offer superb performance & quality they can be very expensive if they go wrong however rest assured as the all important SMG pump has been replaced along with the clutch & the boot floor strengthened, this compromised makes for a truly awesome example of a convertible SMG. I have replaced the drivers side door mirror glass as it was starting to bleed I have also done the popular wiper blade conversion to the bosch aero twin blade along with sidelight & number plate bulbs to the 6k can bus error free ones. I have changed the diff oil to royal purple synchromax inc FM booster. The car is due an oil change within the next 2/3k. The car is pretty impressive & is defo the best colour combo in my opinion. Bad Points passenger door lock sticking (intermittent) service book has been misplaced - I will provide the VIN number & registration number upon request as there is a BMW help service line at £1 per minute charge or I could potentially provide this service for you, for peace of mind. Good Points Subframe checked & repaired by BMW, this i feel is very important when considering buying an M3. it's a very common fault with these cars & can cost anything from £1500-£4000 to put right. SMG Motor replaced & subsequent SMG components checked & tested. Again another common fault, if the M3 is an SMG usually at some point the SMG pump will need replacing this is usually caused by one of the three components failing:- The Motor that drives the pump, the accumulator that holds the pressure or the temp sensor that checks the fluid becomes faulty. On this m3 it turned out to be the motor so replaced it along with the temp sensor, after fitting it had a pressure test on the accumulator which was fine & didn't show any signs that it needed replacing.
